形容词或副词的比较级＋than+any(other)+单数可数名词/any of the other+复数名词/the other/any of the others.在使用这一结构时须要注意：使用这一结构来表达同一范畴中最高级含义时，切记不可出现自身比较错误，如下面的翻译句子：中国是所有亚洲国家中最大的一个。如果译为：

　　China is larger than all the countries in Asia( 　)

　　China is larger than any country in Asia( 　)

　　应译为：China is larger than any other country/any of the other countries/the others/any of the others in Asia.

　　旧教材中出现的一个句子： Bamboo probably has more uses than any other tlant in the world. She dances better than any other girl in her class.

　　但是，如果比较双方不属于同一类别或同一范围，句中则不必用other。

　　例如： Shanghai larger than any city in Hebei Province.

　　　　　He runs faster than any girl in his class.
